Rising damp
Moisture rising from the ground through porous building materials.
What we assess
Marks near floor level, damaged plaster and salt deposits can be consistent with rising damp. They may also have other causes, so ground conditions, materials and existing barriers need assessment.
We examine the symptoms, the building context and possible sources of moisture. Measurements are interpreted alongside the inspection; a single reading cannot establish the cause on its own.
Treatment guided by diagnosis
Inspection combines observation, moisture distribution and, where appropriate, salt analysis. Options may include physical or chemical barriers, compatible plaster repairs and measures to manage water around the building.
Options are proposed after assessing your property. These may include repairs, waterproofing, ventilation, humidity control or maintenance. Suitability and results depend on each building’s conditions.
